Neasden IQ Boxing Club’s co-founder Xavier Miller believes super-featherweight talent Youssef Khoumari has got what it takes to defeat Reece Bellotti and land his dream British title shot at Wembley’s OVO Arena on June 10.

The 26-year-old Khoumari is still looking to land his first professional title despite getting close on two occasions – a 10-round draw against Liam Dillon for the English title in November 2019 at York Hall, Bethnal Green then a 10-round majority decision loss to American Jorge Castaneda for the WBC international silver strap at The O2 Arena, North Greenwich in 2021.

But Khoumari, who blasted Nicaragua’s Cruz Perez out in 1.33 at York Hall in March to register his 15th victory in 17 outings, will now meet former two-time Commonwealth title winner Bellotti, 32, from Watford in an intriguing eliminator for the British super-featherweight title on his Wembley doorstep.

Dillon, meanwhile, and Qais Ashfaq are set to contest the vacant title, with the date still to be decided.

Back in April at York Hall, Bellotti ended a three-loss run by defeating Yeovil’s Dean Dodge in seven rounds in his 20th bout to land to vacant Southern Area mantle.

Miller has trained Khoumari from his Neasden IQ Boxing Club amateur days - which saw him win the England Boxing Southern Area 60kg lightweight title - and insists Bellotti will provide the perfect test come fight night.

“Youssef is ready for this opportunity to fight in front of his fans in his hometown Wembley - it’s a dream come true for him,” said Miller.

“I have been training Youssef for 12 years now and believe he is one of the most skilful fighters we have in the UK. A win versus Bellotti will give Youssef a shot at the British title later in the year.

“It’s the right fight for Youssef at this stage of his career along with the experience he has gained previously boxing on Sky Sports and DAZN.”

Super-flyweight Shannon Ryan, who was previously trained by Miller at Neasden IQ, also appears on the Wembley card as she looks to make it 5-0 against Italy’s Martina Bernile.

Popular unbeaten heavyweight Johnny Fisher, of Romford, goes into his ninth bout while the main attraction on a packed Matchroom Boxing card at Wembley OVO Arena sees South Londoner Sunny Edwards make the fourth defence of his IBF world flyweight title against Chile’s Andres Campos.

Essex-based Nina Hughes defends her WBA women’s world bantamweight crown in an all-British battle with Walsall’s Katie Healy while Catford’s Ellie Scotney is looking to snatch the IBF women’s super-bantamweight crown from New Zealand’s Cherneka Johnson.

Meanwhile, Ladbroke Grove's David Adeleye makes the first defence of his WBO heavyweight European title against Serbia’s Emir Ahmatovic at York Hall on June 9.

The 26-year-old heavyweight, promoted by Frank Warren, impressively stopped the previously unbeaten Dmytro Bezus inside two rounds at the same venue in February.
