Around 70 trees have been damaged in Brent by St Jude’s storm which left a trail of destruction and travel chaos across the city today.
Garden fences and outdoor furniture including bins were strewn across streets and at least three parked cars were hit by felled trees in the borough.
In Preston Park in Wembley, several trees were left severely damaged while in Willesden a Mercedes and Golf were damaged when a tree fell on them in St Paul’s Avenue.
A similar incident happened in Dollis Hill Lane, Dollis Hill.
Commuters making their way to Kensal Green train station were forced to make a detour after a fallen Rowan tree blocked their path.
Once at the station they faced severe delays on the Bakerloo Line as transport bosses struggled to cope with storm.
Almost all Tube lines were affected while those hoping to travel in or out of London were hit with suspension and cancellations by train operators.
