Footage shows the dramatic moment a BMW driver put a police officer in hospital during car chase.

Caleb Ayodele, 27, of Larch Green, Colindale, was driving near Cardiff in a BMW with cloned number plates.

Police used spikes to puncture the tyres but Ayodele continued to drive down the A48 followed by multiple police cars.

During the pursuit Ayodele wove across the road in his BMW, which by then had two flat tyres, writing off one police car and damaging another.

His driving caused one officer to sustain an injury that needed surgery.

When police eventually forced Ayodele to stop by boxing him in he locked himself in the car and laughed at officers as they tried to break his windows.

The incident took place on May 24 and the following day he pleaded guilty to the charges at Cardiff Crown Court.

At the same court on October 1 he received a 14-month prison sentence and was banned from driving for two years.

At the end of the two years he must pass an extended test if he wants to drive again.
