A car crash led to a busy road being closed near five Wembley primary schools and Wembley Stadium.

East Lane in Wembley was closed from Wembley Hill Road to Castleton Avenue due to a crash today (September 25).

The Metropolitan Police says it was called just after 11am and a vehicle was damaged.

However there were no injuries reported.

There was heavy traffic for two hours leading to Wembley Stadium and four buses were diverted from the area – including the 79, 204, 245 and 483 services.

Five schools were also near the crash site – Wembley Primary School, Buxlow Preparatory School, Bright Horizons nursery, The Little Learners nursery and Tayyibun Madrasah.

However, the children would have been in their classes during this time.
