A hospital building being sold by the NHS could be redeveloped into almost 100 new homes.
The NHS has decided that the eastern building of the Wembley Centre for Health site at Chaplin Road is no longer needed, estate agents Savills has said.
Wembley Hospital opened in 1928, and it had several extensions since. It was later renamed Wembley Community Hospital, and a modernised building opened up next to the site in the year 2000.
It currently is made up of The Wembley Hospital ‘old’ building, the Wembley Centre for health ‘new building’ and Barham House.
The site is on the market through estate agent Savills.
It covers 1.78 acres of land, offers pedestrian and vehicle access through Chaplin Road to the south and Fairview Avenue to the east.
Savills said: “The property benefits from positive pre-application engagement for a residential scheme of 94 units in buildings of three to seven storeys.”
The agent added that while the site has potential for residential use, it could suit other uses, subject to securing the necessary consents.
