A pensioner was viciously attacked from behind while withdrawing cash from an ATM, leaving him unable to work after a skull fracture.
The Metropolitan Police were called to Ealing Road in Wembley on March 31 after a pensioner, 70, was knocked unconscious after being approached from behind.
A man reportedly assaulted the 70-year-old and knocked him to the ground, before a woman stole his cash from the ATM machine.
Both suspects fled and the elderly man was subsequently taken to hospital and treated for his injuries, including a fracture to the skull.
The 70-year-old permanently lost hearing in one ear and has had to stop work due to mobility problems after the attack, police said.
Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended the scene.
Police today (May 4) launched an appeal to identify two people they would like to speak to in connection with the attack - a woman in a fur hoodie with camouflage trousers and a man with a dark beard wearing a jacket with the hood up.
Detective Sergeant Muhamed Ahmed said: "This was a premeditated attack which left an elderly man injured.
"I am appealing to the public for help - if you know or recognise either of them then please come forward to police," he added.
