Two Londoners arrested after an alleged plot to disrupt the London Stock Exchange was revealed have been released on bail.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested in Albert Road, Brent, and a 23-year-old man was arrested in Voss Street, Tower Hamlets, yesterday (January 14).
It comes after allegations that activists from the Palestine Action group were intending to target the London Stock Exchange this morning (January 15).
The Met Police said they started their investigation after information was passed to them by the Daily Express on Friday (January 12).
Alongside the two arrests in London, two women – aged 26 and 28 – were held by police in Liverpool, while a 27-year-old man was arrested in Brighton.
All five have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Sean Middleborough, 31, of Woodlee Road, Liverpool, was also arrested by police on Sunday.
He was subsequently charged with conspiracy to cause a public nuisance, and will appear at Wirral Magistrates’ Court today.
