A bakery is hoping to cheer people up as they navigate through 'Blue Monday' with a free doughnut or 25% off products.
The third Monday in January is often referred to as Blue Monday – known as the most depressing day of the year due to cold weather and the hangover of the Christmas spend.
In response, Bread Ahead Wembley will be giving away 100 free doughnuts to its first customers and 25% off all food orders all day from 8am to 8pm on January 15 at its store in Olympic Way.
All doughnut flavours are available including vanilla custard, velvet chocolate, sea salted caramel, raspberry jam, pistachio.
A Bread Ahead spokesperson said: "If you haven’t tried the new crème brulée doughnut, which has bumped Bread Ahead’s previous best seller pistachio off the top spot – now is your chance.
"The crème brulée doughnut, which launched last October, is now Bread Ahead’s firm favourite flavour, with its oozing custard centre and crisp top it is easy to see why!"
Founder Matthew Jones, who left school at 15, set up his first stall in Borough Market in 2013, opened in Wembley Park in 2019 and also has stores in Bromley, Chelsea and South Kensington.
