A shop store room was destroyed in a fire that led to hours of road closures.
Ealing Road was shut near Wembley Central yesterday evening (August 13) as firefighters tackled a fire in a shop with flats above.
A store room on the lower ground floor was destroyed in the fire, London Fire Brigade said.
Around 40 firefighters and six fire engines rushed to the scene at 4.35pm. The blaze was under control just after 8pm.
The cause is believed to have been electrical. There were no reports of any injuries.
As firefighters tackled the blaze, the brigade warned the road would be closed for “the next few hours” and said there would be “heavy" traffic congestion.
Residents were advised to keep their doors and windows closed to avoid the smoke.
Ealing Road was closed both ways between High Road, Wembley and Chaplin Road.
