Pictures from the scene of a double stabbing at Central Middlesex Hospital show a major emergency services presence.
Armed officers were among those responding to the incident just before 1.20pm today (June 21).
Two people were found injured.
The condition of one victim was assessed as life-threatening.
The injuries of the second person are being treated as non-life-threatening.
A man has been arrested outside the hospital in connection with the incident.
He has also been taken to hospital having received injuries that are believed to be self-inflicted.
His condition is being treated as life-threatening.
Officers will remain in the hospital as further searches are conducted but at this time they are satisfied that no one else is sought.
The incident is not being treated as terror-related as police are working to establish the circumstances.

The hospital was temporarily locked down but has now reopened and will be operating services as normal.
