A paedophile has been convicted of sexually assaulting a boy and a girl.
Subrahmaniam Sathananthan, of Pembroke Close, Wembley, is said to have used a position of trust to sexually assault the two in their homes.
Two reports of sexual assault were made to police on April 27, 2019. The girl was 12 at the time she was attacked and the boy was abused between the ages of 9 and 13.
The now 62-year-old had attacked one girl in her bedroom, under the pretext of using a computer there to create some documents for his new business.
In the private setting, he sexually assaulted her and said this was “just between you and me” and “no-one else needs to know”.
Throughout the years that the assaults took place, he bought the victim expensive gifts, including sunglasses and perfumes.
Years later the girl had a Skype call with her family while at university and disclosed the incidents.
This led to the boy revealing that he too had been assaulted when nobody else was in the house.
Santhananthan was arrested on May 10 in 2019 and he denied any involvement in sexual offences against either of the victims.
At Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday (March 21), he was found guilty of ten charges:
- One indecent assault on a male
- Seven counts of indecent assault
- Two counts of indecency with a child
He will be sentenced at the same court on June 16.
Detective chief inspector Neil Smithson, of the Met's Public Protection Team, said: "I commend the bravery of both victim-survivors in coming forward and reporting the assaults to us.
“My team and I have ensured that full support has been given to them both throughout the investigation, as we worked towards getting justice for them.
"I want to reiterate that anyone who reports a sexual offence whether historical or present, you will be listened to and believed from the start."
