Jane McAdam looked at the artistic work of students at Claremont High School
A school in Kenton was paid a special visit by an artist and descendent of the Freud family to witness their work on an arts programme.
Jane McAdam Freud visited Claremont High School to see at first hand, their artistic endeavours in operation.
The school, in Claremont Avenue, is one of six schools in the capital participating in SEGRO Young Artists 2013.
Ms Freud, a multidisciplinary artist is the daughter of Lucian Freud and great granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis.
During her visit she took a look at the students’ work in progress and spoke with them about the ideas behind their artwork.
Now in its fifth year, SEGRO, a leading owner, asset manager and developer of modern warehousing across Europe, runs the art programme to support and develop artistic talent in young people.
At Claremont, artist Leo Smith is working with Head of Art and Design, Kate Guy and her students as they produce art on the theme of “The World of Work” which will form part of an exhibition at the RSA in London this month, to be opened by Ms Freud.
