This month, some of the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust’s rehabilitation services have moved to the Central Middlesex Hospital.

These services were previously based at the Willesden Hospital. However, the Central Middlesex Hospital offers a number of advantages for patients which are expected to improve their care.

Basing teams together on one site will help the trust coordinate care more effectively between nurses, doctors and therapists, helping patients to recover more quickly.

Teams at the Central Middlesex Hospital can respond more quickly to any patients, who may be at risk of becoming seriously unwell, with doctors on site who can manage a wide variety of conditions.

Also, patients who need diagnostic services will be able to access them more quickly and easily as they will no longer need to travel to another site to have a scan.

The Central Middlesex Hospital offers a modern space where patients can recover in a high quality environment well suited for their care and is well served by public transport, with an on-site bus station and access by tube or train nearby.

It also has accessible parking on site which will make visiting much easier for carers, friends and relatives.

Many of these factors are particularly important for patients who need rehabilitation, as they are often frail, and therefore cannot travel easily for scans or any additional medical requirements.
